On many days, Cindy and I would play together as children. We lived across the street from each other for the first 17 years of our lives. We were best friends in elementary school. When my mother died, she was there. When her father died, I was there... As adults we drifted apart. I'm sorry I didn't get a chance to know her as an adult.
