Cathy Elaine Siler

Wife, daughter, sister, mother, aunt, grandmother, and great-grandmother, passed away on July 25th, 2024 after battling a short illness. Thank you to the staff and doctors at Ogden Regional Hospital and Atlas Hospice for the loving care Cathy was given. Cathy was born on December 7th, 1953. She married Dan R Siler on December 5th, 1970. She was the mother of her two daughters: Michelle Andersen and Raelyn Adams. She graduated from Roy High School in 1972. After her daughters went to school, Cathy went on to earn a Bachelor degree from Weber State University in Elementary Education. Cathy loved all of her many students. Cathy retired after teaching for over 30 years. She continued to have contact with many of her students and parents after retirement. In 1998, she had an ATV accident. Before the accident she was very active. She was not able to do as much physically after this but Cathy tried not to let it slow her down. She loved her family and she often said that family was the best medicine. Cathy enjoyed going camping up on the family property each summer. She loved making s’mores, building campfires, and riding the Can-Am. The highlight of her week was driving to Logan and tending her great granddaughter. Cathy loved angels and wore an angel pendant each day. She started this when she lost her brother. She used it as a reminder of her brother and other loved ones who had passed on. Cathy had an angel that hung on her rearview mirror that said, “May You Never Drive Faster Than Your Guardian Angel Can Fly.” Cathy has become our own personal guardian angel watching over us. May we never drive faster than she can fly. Cathy is survived by her husband, Dan, of 53 years, daughters: Michelle (Michael) and Raelyn (Rhyan). Grandchildren: Dallas (Josi), Jaden, Karlee (Travis), Jaren, KylaAnn and Kaiden. Great Grandchildren: Bexley, Colt, and Sabrina. She will also be missed by her dogs Lilly and Skia. Cathy helped deliver her first grandson on her living room floor and he would later go on to save her life when she was choking. Cathy loved her friends, upon coming in contact she could pick up where they had left off no matter how much time had lapsed. She enjoyed talking on the phone or even talking to friends in the grocery store for long periods of time. If she called and you missed it she would always leave a memorable voicemail that you looked forward to listening to. Cathy encouraged all to eat a large piece of dark chocolate cake in her honor. Quote from Cathy, “Please note, I love you all. Thank you for being an important part of my life. We will be together again.” Cathy, your wings were ready but our hearts were not.
