In Loving Memory of José Silva Muñiz José Silva Muñiz, a pillar of strength and a beacon of love, peacefully passed away at the age of 94 on January 4, 2024. Born on December 8th, 1929, in Atapaneo, Mexico, José was the beloved son of José Muñiz and Ana Maria Silva. At the age of 26, driven by a relentless determination to forge a better life, José embarked on a journey to the United States in 1955. He began his endeavors working in the orchard fields of California and later contributed seven years of hard work to the railroad industry in Yubacity, California. In 1968, José married the love of his life, Guadalupe Amaya, and together they built a beautiful family. Their first-born daughter, Anita, entered the world in Yubacity, California. Subsequently, the family moved to Afton, Wyoming in 1970, where they welcomed two more daughters, Alicia and Patricia. In the 1970s, José dedicated himself to the logging industry from 1970 to 1977, contributing his hard work and skills to this demanding field. Later, he transitioned to a position at Maverick, where he worked in maintenance until his well-deserved retirement in 1994. Among his many interests, José had a passion for radios and even demonstrated his ingenuity by building a radio capable of capturing signals from Asia. He also enjoyed working with small engines and electrical projects, showcasing his skill and dedication. A devout member and patriarch of the Spanish speaking Seventh-Day Adventist Church, José not only practiced his faith but also took on the role of a spiritual leader within his own home. He conducted sermons in the family's living room, fostering a deep connection with God and instilling values that would endure through generations. José Silva Muñiz was a man of unwavering faith and boundless love for his entire family. His strength, care, love, affirmation, warmth, and motivation were constants in the lives of those fortunate enough to know him. He never allowed anyone to forget the profound love that God held for each and every one of us. He is survived by his loving wife, Guadalupe Amaya, three beautiful daughters, Anita (Tom) Cottam, Alicia Cottam, and Patricia (Ruben) Parra, along with 20 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents and sister, Rafaela Muñiz Colin. The family expresses heartfelt gratitude to Dr. Kurt Rifleman, MD., for his attentive and tender care, Dr. John Markeson, MD., and all his staff, as well as JaCoy and Cindy with Elevation Hospice for their unwavering support during his last days. A celebration of life will be held at Seventh-Day Adventist Church 410 West 5200 South, Washington Terrace, Utah, 84405. Viewing service will be held on January 8th, 2024 from 6:00p.m to 8:00p.m. Funeral service will be held January 9th, 2024 at 11:00a.m. Interment at Brigham City Cemetery. A los 26 años, impulsado por una determinación incansable de forjar una vida mejor, José emprendió un viaje a los Estados Unidos en 1955. Comenzó trabajando en los campos de huertos de California y posteriormente dedicó siete años de arduo trabajo a la industria ferroviaria en Yubacity, California.
