Judith Rae Bracken Brunson

With heavy hearts and profound sadness, we announce the passing of Judith Rae Bracken Brunson. Judith completed her earthly journey on March 9th, 2024, after struggling for years with many health challenges. Judy was born on December 17th, 1959, to Byron Ray and Constance Jane Bracken, the third of four children. Judy grew up in a happy home, with close family relations with her parents, siblings, grandparents, many loved Aunts, Uncles, and cousins. She had many treasured remembrances creating memories with those she loved most. Judy and former spouse, [Jared Brunson], welcomed three children into their family. Miranda, Brad, and Kayla. Her children spent their younger years growing up in Utah surrounded by family, and later in California where they grew up, became adults, married, and brought grandchildren into the family. Judy loved her children and grandchildren. In Judy's later years, she returned to Utah and became a caregiver to her father. In her own words, "It was a joyous responsibility and I would never take it back. I loved him to death and taking care of him was the best thing in my life. It made me grow better and have more patience." After her father's passing, when most of her days were not spent in caregiving, she became friends with many whom she appreciated, who brightened her days, made her laugh, helped her, and who will greatly miss her. Judy will be remembered for her sense of humor, her infectious laugh (and sometimes snorts.) Her feistiness. And for being often overly generous. Her final years though difficult, spent often mentally and physically in pain, were also ones where she became more giving in telling those around her thank you and that she loved and appreciated them. Her words still ring loud, "I love you brother dear!" "Thank you for everything you do for me." Judy's later years were also ones where her heart was tender, where she was touched by beautiful words and music about the Savior. As the veil becomes thin, I can see her parent's words of peace welcoming her home, letting her know everything will be okay. Her suffering has been long enough. We look forward to seeing Judy again someday when her mind and body are whole and healthy. Judith was preceded in death by her father, Byron Bracken. Mother, Connie Bracken. Byron's second wife RoseAnne. Danny Schmiett, her much-loved Brother-in-law. And Scott Bracken, Nephew. Surviving family members: Daughter, Miranda (Mike) Anderson. Son, Bradley Brunson. Daughter, Kayla (Joe) Ruth. Siblings, Becky (Late husband Danny) Schmiett. Ron (Ellen) Bracken. Kevin (Carrie Sue) Bracken. Many loved grandchildren, nieces, and nephews. And her little companion dog, Buddy. Judy's remains will be laid to rest by her parents at Redwood Memorial Cemetery and later memorialized by her family and close friends.
