Karren Diane Bodrero

Karren Diane Bodrero, 80, passed away peacefully at her home on February 10, 2025, surrounded by her family. She was the beloved wife of Jay Lynn Bodrero, with whom she shared 61 years of marriage. Karren was a loving mother to Debby (Mike) Barnes, Jody (Kathryn) Bodrero, Angela (Craig) Christensen, Stephanie (Jacob) Cowley, and Cami (Dave) Schow, and a proud grandmother to 18 grandchildren: Matthew (Courtney) Barnes, Randy (Kara) Barnes, Sarah (Brady) Stroud, Heather (Tom) Smith, Jexton Bodrero, Jade (Zane) Halvorsen, Jessica Christensen, Sierra (Logan) Dawes, Colton (Vidhya) Christensen, Hannah (Brenden) Lonnecker, Makayla (Peyton) Fox, Kaden Cowley, Elizabeth Cowley, Ethan Cowley, Blake Schow, Brooklyn Schow, Tyler Schow, Landon Schow, and 5 great-grandchildren, with 3 more on the way. She is also survived by her sister, Patty (Dave) Hochstettler. She was preceded in death by her parents, Leo and Avis McBride, and her brother Todd McBride. Karren was born on October 26, 1944, in Hyrum, Utah, to Leo and Avis McBride. She grew up helping on the family farm, where she developed a strong work ethic that stayed with her throughout her life. In her youth, she loved going down to Hyrum dam with her brother and friends, swimming, laughing, and creating lasting memories. Karren married Jay Lynn Bodrero on October 25, 1963, and together they made a home in Woods Cross, where they raised their children and made lifelong friends. Karren’s greatest passion was her family, and she was devoted to creating memories with them. She loved spending time outdoors, playing games with her family, and capturing those moments with her camera. She enjoyed making personalized family calendars filled with photographs, keeping the spirit of togetherness alive throughout the years. She had a special talent for making everyone around her feel loved, appreciated, and like family—whether they were or not and made our house a home where everyone felt welcomed. In addition to her devotion to family, Karren was deeply committed to her faith. She served in many callings in her church, including as Relief Society President and as a service missionary. She was always willing to lend her time and talents to others, offering support and guidance to those in need. She was known for her selflessness and dedication to serving others. Whether it was offering a helping hand to a neighbor or lending her support to loved ones, she was always there for those in need. She also had a gift for writing heartfelt poems for others, celebrating their milestones, providing comfort in times of sorrow, and simply reminding them of how special they were. Her example of compassionate service was an inspiration to all. Karren’s kindness, strength, and love will be missed by all who knew her. Known for her creative spirit and sense of humor, Karren loved to make up stories, often involving whimsical characters like Scamper and the mischievous Peanut Butter Monster. She delighted in sharing these stories with her family, spreading laughter and joy. Her imagination, kindness, strength, and love will be missed. Karren was also known for being a hard worker and for her stubbornness. Once she set her mind to something, she was determined to see it through, and her unwavering resolve became one of the defining traits of her character. She was the best mother, grandmother, wife, and friend that any of us have ever known, and she is loved beyond what words can express. Her legacy lives on in her children, grandchildren, and the many cherished memories she leaves behind. A special thank you to the many friends and neighbors who showed their love, friendship, and support through visits, phone calls, prayers, food, treats, gifts, and time spent helping. We appreciate each of you and everything you did to help and comfort in our family’s time of need. A memorial service to honor Karren’s life will be held at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints located at 790 W 1500 S in Woods Cross, on Saturday February 22, 2025. Funeral services will begin at 11am with a viewing prior to the service from 9-10:45am.
