Triston Joseph Gray

On February 2, 2025, our fiercely loving and loyal Triston Joseph Gray passed on from this world and entered into peace and healing in the arms of Jesus Christ. Though he passed much too soon, his 27 years with us was filled with genuine laughter, love and adventure. Triston was born to William (Billy) Joseph Gray Jr. and Becky Lynn Rose on April 1, 1997 in Roy, UT. Triston grew up in Roy and attended Roy High School where he made many friends and played Varsity Football for the Roy High Royals. He walked the stage and graduated with the class of 2015. Triston is survived by his father William (Billy) Gray Jr. (Tisa), mother Becky Rose (Dustin), his two brothers, Tyrell Gray and Chance Hawks, grandparents Kenneth (Gaylene) Rose, and Marsha Wardell. On his mother's side, aunts Kim Rose, Jodee (Travis) Baird, Christene (Travis) Baird, Stacy (Cody) Patterson and uncles Shayne Rose and Jeremy Rose. On his fathers's side, aunts Sharon (Edward) Anderson and Amy Gray Slocumb. Though they are not uncles by blood, Jeremy Wilkins and Todd Berglund stood beside Triston through all of life's ups and downs like any uncle would. Triston also has many many cousins that love him so very much. He is preceded in death by his very loved and cherished grandparents William and Anna Gray, affectionately known as Momo and Popo and his uncle Jordan Wardell. Triston could be found in many places, but the most likely places were on the banks of whatever body of water he could find, pulling fish out left and right putting everyone else to shame, zipping around local trails on his motorized scooter, or making some sick beats in his Dad’s studio. He was, most definitely, a man of many talents. He found so much joy in creating recipes on his smoker, showing off what he cooked up because he KNEW it was better than good and boy, was he right. Whenever he found something new that he liked, he didn’t do it half heartedly. He would find out every bit of information he could and would tell you about it any chance he got. He mastered every single thing he did. Triston could walk into a room full of strangers and walk out with life long friends. He seemed to make friends everywhere he went. This is evident in the fact that during his time at Jackson’s, he made many friends with both co-workers and customers. He had the ability to talk to people like he’d known them for years, even if he had just met them. Customers would come in and ask for “The Big Guy” specifically because he brought them happiness with even the smallest interaction. Triston found true and unfaltering love in his fur baby, Dosia, his beautiful Silver Lab that he got when she was puppy. He named her Dosia, which means Divine Gift in Polish, because she came to him at a time when he truly needed the love and loyalty only a dog could give. She loved her dad, so very much. Dosia is an extension of Triston and has given us joy in these dark days. Triston was known for his mischievous laughter, his big hugs, how much he loved adventure, and how genuinely he loved his family and friends. He always managed to have an awful joke up his sleeve that was always followed up with that mischievous laugh, and to be honest, his laugh was the best part of it all. Triston would never turn down a chance to give his loved ones a hug and to say “I love you” in the special way only he could. When he said “I love you” he put so much emotion behind those words. He said them in a way that didn’t leave room for doubt. If he told you he loved you, you knew he meant it. Triston and his dad have always had a special bond. They spent most of their time together building lego sets till the sun went down and came back up again, on the banks of Bear River fishing the day away, and sitting side by side in the studio creating music. To grieve is to have loved. Triston is so loved by so many. In the wise words of Triston Gray, “Don’t let your meat loaf.” We will be having a Celebration of Life on February 12, 2025 from 5-8PM at the Clinton City Community Center Room located at 1651 W 2300 N Clinton, UT 84015.
