June 25, 1954 - June 29, 2020
Ada “Kathy” Dea 1954 - 2020 Ada “Kathy” Dea, age 66, slipped through the veil June 29, 2020 at home. She was surrounded by her family. Their hearts full of sorrow and love, with many tears shed. Leaving her family and friends was the hardest task. She will be greatly missed! Kathy was born June 25th, 1954 to Wallace Leland and Val Dean Short. She graduated from South High School and later Utah Trade Technical College to become an LPN. A perfect calling for someone so compassionate. She started her career at LDS Hospital, later following her husband while he pursued his career paths, she also worked at other hospitals in San Diego California and Dallas Texas. Eventually returning back to LDS/IMC working with many of her former colleagues. She retired with over 40 years of combined nursing service. She is survived by her husband Timothy Paul Dea. (married November 8, 1974) sons; Nicholas Paul (Andrea), Trent Carl (Emily Gallegos) and Eric Timothy Dea. Sisters; Debra Weeks (Mike), Brenda Davenport (Steve), and Margie Galindo (Adam), and two adorable granddaughters Madison and Kylie. She also developed a loving bond with Emily’s children Tanner and Hanna. Preceded in death by her father Wally and mother Val. Her children were always center stage while growing up. She was involved with their growth and development by supporting their goals in sports, academics, church, hobbies and scouts, earning her Eagle Scout three times. The addition of her granddaughters changed her whole world. The love and bond between them are indescribable. You could feel the love in the room whenever they were together. Her boys and granddaughters remained her main priority up to the end. Her balance of being a mother, nurse, housekeeper and loving wife was nothing less then super human. In her spare time, she was a very gifted quilter and seamstress creating many beautiful works of art. She was very precise and critical of her quilt work even though everyone else is in awe of how beautiful her creations really are. Called home, she is now reunited with her spirt family, their tears of joy and hearts full of love and happiness for her return. Until we meet again Kathy, Love You! Graveside services will be 11:00 am, Friday, June 10, 2020 at Valley View Memorial Park, West Valley City, Utah.
