Anna DeYoung Call died peacefully in her home on February 6, 2015, 12 days before her 88th birthday. She will be remembered for her strength, her endurance, and for making everyone feel welcome at the beautiful Call home on the Millcreek. She will be greatly missed by family and friends. Anna was born in Salt Lake City to Henry and Marion Smith DeYoung on Feb 18, 1927. She married Everett Hale Call on June 28, 1950 in the Salt Lake Temple. She raised seven children and was very influential in the lives of her grandchildren. She was physically strong, yet spiritually sensitive, and was a natural organizer and leader who served her family tirelessly. She was an amazing cook. While raising her large family she valiantly served as Primary President, Ward and Stake Relief Society President, in Sunday school, and in the Young Women’s organization. After her children were raised, she worked for the Church Educational System, primarily at Skyline High School Seminary. She fulfilled a service mission at the Joseph Smith Memorial Building. She is survived by her children Cathryn (Richard) Kirkham, Carolyn (Mervin) Housley, Robert Call, Richard (Marilyn) Call, Craig (Gwen) Call, Cynthia (Nasser) Call-Shotorbani, 19 grandchildren and 42 great-grandchildren; brothers Melvin, Donald, Rulon DeYoung; and Sister Neoma Lloyd. She was preceded in death by her husband, Everett; daughter Lou Ann Wilson; granddaughters, Ashley Call and Camille Call-Garcia; sister, Ruth Knowlton; and brothers Louis, John, and Lowell DeYoung. Funeral services will be held on Monday, February 16, 2015, at 12:00 noon at the East Millcreek First Ward, 2702 E. Evergreen Avenue (3435 South), in Salt Lake City, Utah. Friends may visit from 10:30-11:45 am prior to the services. Burial will be at Elysian Gardens, 1075 East 4580 South, Salt Lake City.
