Arlene J Jones

September 3, 1941 - April 23, 2020

Arlene J Jones, 78, of Clinton, Utah, passed away from cancer Thursday April 23rd, 2020 at her daughters’ home in West Point, Utah surrounded by loved ones. She was born to parents Arthur M Hill and Joy V Hill, September 3rd, 1941 in Butte, Montana. Arlene graduated from Pocatello High in 1959. She later went on to graduate from LDS Business College. Arlene worked for the Probation Department in Arizona, the Davis County School District, Job Corp in Clearfield and Lindquist Mortuary. Arlene is survived by her four children; Ginger K Weathersby (spouse William Weathersby), of Syracuse, Utah, Michelle Jones-Hale (spouse Scott Hale), Redfield, South Dakota, C. Vaughn Jones, of Clinton, Utah, and Amber Jones Jackson, of West Point, Utah. Arlene is also survived by her 14 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren, her beloved dog Jax, sister Cherri Hill, brother Richard Hill, and her niece and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents and son. Arlene loved her family. She was always there for her them when they needed her and would often stay up late just to talk and listen to them. She often joked that above anything and anyone else she loved her dog Jax the most. The feelings were mutual. Jax would go everywhere with her and loved all the hugs, loves, table scraps and attention from her. Arlene also loved gardening, being outside in the sunshine and doing yardwork. She had a green thumb and could grow anything. She loved hummingbirds and would grow anything to attract them. She loved drinking Iced Tea filled with crushed ice and was a regular customer at her favorite restaurant Granny Annie’s where she would get her “usual” country friend steak. Wherever Arlene went she made new friends. She had a special gift for attracting people and loved to swap life stories. She was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints and had a strong testimony of its truthfulness. Mom, you are dearly loved and will be greatly missed. Viewing services will be held at the West Point City Cemetery from 12-1pm. Social Distancing guidelines will apply.
