Barbara Diane Treece passed away November 27th, 2021 at her home surrounded by her loving family. Barb was born August 28th, 1951 to Denvil Clifton Mullins & Fern Merita Horton in Massilon, Ohio. She lived in California as a young girl before moving to Layton, Utah when she was 10 years old. Barb married Larry in 1972 and later moved to Syracuse, UT. where they raised their family of two children and lived much of their life. They moved to Evanston WY. to be closer to Grandchildren for a short time and then moved to Malad, ID. to enjoy retirement. Barb dedicated her life to raising her children while also working several years in the Gift Shop at Antelope Island and Hamblin’s Market in Syracuse, UT. Barb absolutely loved the interaction with local residents and with people from all over the world who would visit the Island. She had a quick smile and a warm heart that made everyone around her feel welcomed and loved. Barb married Larry Michael Treece on January 27th, 1972. They were companions and friends through thick and thin with a love and devotion to each other that was undeniable. She was by her husband’s side for several months caring for him after a near fatal heart attack and he did the same for her, as a loving care giver constantly by her side right up to their last moments together as she battled Alzheimer’s Disease. Barb loved to camp with her family and especially enjoyed camping in the La Plata recreation area for several years. She loved to travel and spend time with her children and grandchildren. Sleepovers at Grandma Barb’s in Malad are a treasured memory for her Grandchildren. Barb took great pride in having a clean and cozy home and was an excellent decorator and flower gardener. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother who devoted her life to her family. Barb is survived by her husband Larry and two children: Kari (Chad) Edwards, West Haven UT. Mike (Heather) Treece, West Warren UT. Grandchildren; JW, Cole and Emma Edwards; Taylor and Ashlyn Treece; brothers Fred (Brenda) Mullins and Gordon (Sue) Farrimond. She was preceded in death by her parents, sister Sherry Romero and her brother Danny Mullins. The family would like to thank the staff of Symbii for their loving and caring support of Barb over the last several months.
