Benjamin Geoffrey Green
July 14, 2014 - December 3, 2014
Benjamin Geoffrey Green, born to Geoffrey and Jessica Green on 14 July 2014 in Salt Lake City, ended his 4.5 month life’s journey peacefully in his parents’ arms at Primary Children’s Hospital on 3 December 2014. Ben was a fighter from the start, battling congenital heart disease and living life on the edge with a variety of medical complications both in and out of the womb. All but three weeks of his life were spent at Primary Children’s where he was cared for by a skilled and loving medical staff and many loving family members, all angels in disguise. Ben brought surprises and smiles to us all. His spirit was so sweet that loving him was natural and we couldn’t help but fall in love. We wouldn’t trade his short life for anything and will always be grateful for our time with him. He brought a brightness into our lives that will never dim, but will shine forever. We love you, Benny Bear, our handsome little guy. You only had half a heart, but you were perfect to us. We give special thanks to the excellent medical staff in London, who started us on our journey with Ben; the excellent nurses, doctors, and other staff at Primary Children’s Hospital who helped Ben through his journey; and our many wonderful family members, neighbors, and friends in Cottonwood Heights and London who stepped up to help our struggling family. Nothing could have prepared us for the journey Ben took our family on. It was amazing. In lieu of flowers, we suggest donations in any form to Primary Children’s Hospital. Ben is survived by his mom and dad, Jessica and Geoff Green, his sisters Katelyn and Addison, his identical twin, Gavin, and a large extended family. We invite friends and family to join in celebrating Ben’s life on Saturday, 6 Dec. at the LDS Stake Center at 6890 S. Whitmore Way. Viewing at 10 am and a funeral at 11 am.
