Beth Johnson
June 15, 1930 - January 21, 2013
Beth Johnson, born June 15, 1930 in Seattle, Washington, to John and Ivy Alma Wallis Johnson, passed away on January 21, 2013 in Spanish Fork, Utah. Beth left a lasting legacy of hard work and service to others. She worked in many fields, including paralegal, hospital administration and property management. The last 30 years of her life she spent as a successful real estate agent in Washington and Utah. She “retired” at the age of 81. She taught her children to work hard and to stick with a job until it was finished. She loved to serve in the church and for many years used her musical ability on the organ and piano in her ward and in the LDS Seattle Temple. She also served as an ordinance worker there. She had a gift for organization, decorating, and flower arranging. In addition to doing flowers for family weddings, she helped with many elaborate productions in her ward. Her greatest love in life was her family. She loved sharing in the important events in their lives and supporting them in all their endeavors. Taking the entire family to Disney World for a week was a major highlight in her life. She was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers and four sisters. She is survived by her three children: Beth (Ron) Knudsen, Maure (Pauline) Baker, Stacy (Theon) Rawlings; eleven grandchildren and 20 great grandchildren. She is also survived by two sisters and one brother: Lois (Ken) Nilsen, Ester (Jim) Rasband, Clyde (Edith) Johnson; and many nieces and nephews. The family would like to thank Encompass Hospice for their assistance and loving care of our mother during her last few months and the LDS Aspen Heights Ward for their love and service to her over the last five years. Funeral services will be held at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 1167 South 1700 East, Spanish Fork, Utah, at 12:00 noon, with a viewing beginning at 10:30am, on Saturday, January 26, 2013, under the direction of Bishop Curtis J. Simmons of the LDS Aspen Heights Ward. Burial will be at Wasatch Lawn Memorial Park in Salt Lake City.
