Betty Ann Gollstrom Gleason

January 10, 1938 - January 7, 2021

Our mother, grandmother, and sister Betty Ann Gollstrom Gleason passed away peacefully at home at the age of “21.” She was born on January 10, 1938 in Proctor, VT to Fritz and Anna Gollstrom. Mom’s parents migrated from Sweden to the USA and mom was very proud of her heritage as proven with the threat of a “pisketarumpa” for anyone who was acting up. She married Lawrence Patrick Gleason, the love of her life, on October 19, 1957; they had six wonderful children; Lawrence Gleason Jr., Anna (Mike) Douglas, Pamela (Paul) Brotzman, Gregory Gleason, Michael (Tina) Gleason, Theresa Adams whom all “percolated” 17 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren. Mom was very involved in the lives of her grandchildren including raising her oldest living grand-daughter Debra Lee. She loved to spend time playing games and cards with her great-grandchildren and later in life her grandchildren took an active role in her care. She worked over 25 years at the Internal Revenue Service where she created lasting friendships. Once retired, mom was not one to just sit around. She volunteered at Davis Hospital and worked at Sam’s Club as a product demonstrator. Mom had the gift of gab and was known by all as a “nyfiken” for her ability to get information from all. Mom made friends where ever she went with her out-going personality and infectious laughter. Our mom loved country music. She went to Nashville several times to attend the Country Fan Fest with her sisters and daughter. She loved traveling, going to visit new places and revisiting her favorite casinos. Every year she would go “home” to Vermont for weeks to catch up with family and friends. Mom was very family-oriented and made sure we always got together to celebrate holidays and/or just to party. She went to heaven to celebrate her 83rd birthday with those who proceeded her in death; her husband Larry, granddaughter Nicole, her parents and her siblings. She is survived by her sister Donna, her children, 16 grandchildren, and her great-grandchildren. Graveside service will be held on Tuesday January 12, 2021 at Lindquist’s Clearfield Mortuary 1050 South Street, Clearfield, UT at 2:00 pm. In lieu of flowers, please celebrate mom’s life with a shot of VO.
