Betty June Salvo
October 26, 1927 - December 13, 2016
Betty June Salvo 1927 – 2016 We celebrate the life and mourn the loss of our most precious matriarch, Betty J. Salvo. Mom completed her journey on December 13, 2016, surrounded by those she served and loved with dignity, selflessness, and grace. She was born to Stella M. Fryer and John E. Scheib October 26, 1927, in Salt Lake City, UT. While attending Utah State University she met and married her husband, Paul A. Salvo January 15, 1949. Their separate lives combined to create a family of six children all of whom they raised in Utah winters, and New Jersey summers. Her passion for family history and photographic illustration bore the depth of her affection for those she loved past and present. Her legendary family dinners are recalled with two constants: great food lovingly prepared, and her empty seat at the table until all were cared for. Her family raised, she went to work in lunch services at Ben Lomond High School. There she developed lifelong friendships with wonderful women much like herself. Whether on her grandmas farm in Deweyville, with sorority sisters in college, sports world with her husband, lunch with friends and family, or F.B.I. gatherings with her parents she simply loved people, and they her. Betty is survived by her sons, Bruce (Lori) Salvo, Patrick Salvo, Frank (Sheila) Salvo, daughter, Lisa Salvo (Nick Prout), 14 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren, 1 great-great-grandson, sister, Bobbie Stoneberg, and many nieces and nephews. Betty was preceded in death by her parents, husband Paul, and sons Michael and John. Honoring moms wishes no services will be held. The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to Dr. Kathleen DeRemer, Angie and Brenda and the staff of Summit Hospice for their compassionate care.
