February 14, 1936 - November 28, 2017

Bonnie Gayle Bailey Nakao THE PARTY’S OVER. Bonnie Gayle Bailey joined her eternal family on November 28, 2017. Born in Salt Lake City on February 14, 1936, she was the third child and only daughter of Merrill Green Bailey and Marian Rich Clark. She was preceded in death by her parents and two older brothers, Richard Merrill Bailey and Wallace Clark Bailey. A graduate of East High School, she finished her education at California State University, San Francisco. She then moved to Southern California in 1961 and took a job at Space Technology Laboratories, later TRW and now Northrup Grumman. Her career spanned thirty-one years ending as a Pricing Manager in 1992. Bonnie married Harry H. Nakao, the love of her life, on November 15, 1962 (later sealed in the LDS Bountiful Temple) until his death on December 12, 2007. Bonnie belonged to a small group of dear friends called “Bonnie’s Lunch Bunch” that met monthly and showcased her love of the arts inherited from her father. Bonnie and Harry traveled extensively on cruises. She never met a cat she didn’t like. She is survived by her son Gary (Stephanie), granddaughter Jennifer (Landon Kawabata), great grandchildren Carson and Akemi, Three special cousins, Lois Mildon, Marge (James) Newson and Joyce Buehner, four nephews Merrill (Jan), Stanton, MD (Sally) and Phillip (Linda), Mark (Janice) Bailey, two grand nephews, Eric (April) Bailey and Jason (Stacia) Thorkelson, Three nieces, Jo Anne (Dale) Barbee, Ellen (Robert) Henry, Sandra (Russell) Bailey-Gross and friends too numerous to mention. She loved them all. The family would like to express their appreciation for the great care she received at home especially Cassie Ringel (Elevation) and Salote Ata (Home Instead). Funeral services will be 2:00 pm, Saturday, December 2, 2017 at the Cottonwood 1st Ward, 5913 South Highland Drive, Holladay, UT where a viewing will be prior to services at 1:00 pm.
