Brad Despain Wilson

January 29, 1954 - April 17, 2012

KAYSVILLE, UT –Brad Despain Wilson, 58, died April 17, 2012, surrounded by family, due to causes related to cancer. He was born to Arlene Despain and Glade Cloward in Spanish Fork and later lovingly adopted by his step-father Larry R Wilson. He grew up in Farmington and attended Davis High and Weber State College. He was active in speech and debate. He married Michele Hancey on March 5, 1976 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. They were blessed with six terrific children and eight beautiful grandchildren. He was a High Priest in the LDS Church. He served a mission to France and Belgium. He held callings on the Stake High Council and as High Priest Group leader. His favorite calling was Gospel Doctrine teacher. Brad was a salesman in the sporting goods industry for 37 years, a career he dearly loved. He traveled the mountain states selling uniforms and equipment. He was a mule man and horse trader. He loved the mountain trails and red rock country. He served as the president of the Golden Spike Mule Association. He loved the outdoors, hunting, camping and just walking in the sunshine. Brad loved cowboy poetry and entertained family and friends with hours of memorized verse. He is survived by his wife Michele, children Brandon (Talicia), Adam , Caleb (Kate), Andy, Wendy (Greg) Willis, Bob, eight grandchildren, mother Arlene Wilson (Ron) Toone, step-mother Janet Cloward, siblings Kevin (Joeen), Brian (Julie), Kathy (Doug) Stringham, K (Jackie), Alysa, Jed (Sherrie) Mitchell, Kelly (Angie) Cloward, and Cory (Shannon) Cloward. He was preceded in death by his fathers Larry R Wilson and Glade Cloward and brother Kris. Funeral services will be held Saturday, April 21, 2012 at 12 p.m. at the Kaysville South LDS Stake Center, 900 South Main. Viewings will be held Friday, April 20 from 6-8 p.m. at the church and Saturday from 10:30-11:30 a.m. before the service. Interment at the Farmington City Cemetery.
