Brice Owen Searle
October 1, 1933 - January 2, 2022
Brice Owen Searle Brice passed away surrounded by his loved ones on Sunday, January 2, 2022. Brice was born October 1, 1933 to Delos and Alice Searle in Lapoint, Utah. He married Janette Ross on June 1, 1952. He is survived by his wife of almost 70 years, who he affectionately called “Nette”, and his children, Brent (Susan) Searle of Lapoint, UT; Marlene (Jerome) Barela of Willard, UT; Wade (Karen) Searle of Brigham City, UT; Melissa (Bill) Mulder of Ogden, UT; 19 grandchildren; 33 great grandchildren; 4 great-great grandchildren and friends too numerous to count. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Jana Brown; his parents; and his siblings, Ronald Searle, Keith Searle and Lorna Daniels. As one of Jehovah’s Witnesses, he loved his god, Jehovah, and had a strong faith in the Bible’s promise of a resurrection to life on a future paradise earth. He held that hope firmly to the end. Brice was devoted to his family. He loved people and was known for his generosity. He was the first to offer a helping hand to anyone who needed it. He was a true cowboy who loved the cowboy life and the outdoors. He could entertain people for hours with stories of his life experiences. He loved horses, especially quarter horses and cow ponies. Among his favorite pastimes were riding horses and herding cows, and watching horse racing, rodeos and old westerns on TV. One of his grandsons recently summed Brice up nicely when he said, “He was a 5’3” man who lived his life 7 feet tall.” Due to the ongoing COVID pandemic, a Zoom memorial service will be held on Saturday, January 15, 2022.
