Bruce Lynn Hanson
July 19, 1930 - July 5, 2012
Bruce Lynn Hanson passed away peacefully at home on July 5, 2012 after a long battle with Parkinson's Disease. He always faced that battle with courage and good cheer. He inspired us with his optimistic outlook and positive disposition. He was a wonderful example to all of us. He was born in Idaho Falls, ID on July 19, 1939 to Lynn Raymond Hanson and Isabelle Jane Dunn. Bruce married his sweetheart Joann Kochevar June 6, 1964, in the Los Angeles Temple. He graduated from Cal State Los Angeles in Accounting. The majority of his career he owned his own bookkeeping and tax practice. Bruce loved church, family, and sports. He and Joann with their 8 children spent many happy years in Fountain Valley, CA. He was an avid L.A. Angels fan, but even more than the Angels he was the greatest fan of his children's activities. After moving to Utah in 2005 he loved attending BYU sporting events, especially men's volleyball. Bruce was known for his kind heart, his love for all and especially his big hugs. He is preceded in death by: his parents, sisters, Rita and Ruth Hanson and two nephews. He is survived by: wife, Joann, children, Ken Hanson (Beverly), Brent Hanson (Maria), Todd Hanson, Heather Hanson, Sara Chadwick (James), Bradley Hanson (Shari), Nathan Hanson (Evaly) and Matthew Hanson(Sheri), brothers, Steve Hanson (Joyce), Ray Hanson (Beverly), Glen Hanson (Margaret), and Reed Hanson (Etta), sister Lynette,and 23 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren. Services will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday July 14, at the LDS Chapel, 1631 E 900 N, Lehi, UT. A viewing will be held at 9:30 prior to the services.
