He is the son of the late Edward L Simms, and Mildred Robertson Simms. He is survived by his loving wife Kristine McRae Simms, and 4 children Nicholas, Natalie, Tiffany, and Breanna Simms, all of Riverton. Also surviving are his older brother Vincent (Jessie), American Fork, and younger sister Marva (Dave) Zwahlen, St. George, sisters-in-law, VerLynn Thompson, Mapleton, and Connie Simms, Spring Glen. He is preceded in death by two older brothers: Edward Simms, and Kent Simms. Calvin graduated from Carbon High School, He went on to attend CEU receiving his Associates. He then attended BYU and graduated with a degree of technology in engineering and then returned to the U of U for a degree of Computer science. He served an LDS mission in San Antonio, Texas, at the age of 19, and was united in Eternal Matrimony with his wife Kristine McRae on July 30,1988, in the Jordan River Temple. He worked in the Jordan River Temple for 2 years. He lived a good life and devoted it to doing what he loved: Serving the Lord. He was a man rich in spiritual blessing, and with a family who continues to love him. He was happiest at home surrounded by his loved ones, at church as he taught to others the gospel principles he held so dear, and when he was out camping or fishing, enjoying nature and surviving off the land. He inspired us all with his fervent testimony of the truthfulness of the Book of Mormon. He taught his children to love and cherish God, their mother Kristine M. Simms, and to always be honest in all of their dealings. A viewing will be held at the LDS chapel on 1454 West 13200 South, Riverton, Utah on Wednesday, Dec 21, 2016 at 6-8:00 pm. The funeral service will be Thursday at 11:00 am at the LDS chapel, with Bishop Stowe presiding. A viewing prior to the service will be 10:00 to 10:45 am. We will then proceed to the Riverton Cemetery adjacent to the building. In lieu of flowers please send any donations to 2161 west 13180 south Riverton Utah.
