Cecelia Cynthia Lucas

September 9, 1942 - February 8, 2022

Cecelia Cynthia Lucas, the loving matriarch of our family, has returned to her heavenly home surrounded by her children and grandchildren, on February 8, 2022 at the Annie Taylor Dee Guest House. Cecelia was born on September 9, 1942 in Del Norte, Colorado. She lived the majority of her life in Ogden, Utah. She was preceded in death by her parents, Alex and Flora Gallegos, her oldest son, Anthony Lucero (Jenevie Lucero of Fallon, NV), her siblings, Robert, Sophia, Arthur, Jake, Loretta, Carmen, and Charlie. She was the oldest of 15 children. Her husband, Larry Lucas, also preceded her in death. Cynthia worked at Community Action as a bus aide and kitchen cook for many years, but her most recent employment was with CentryLink. She loved her children and grandchildren dearly. She enjoyed gardening, dancing, painting, crafts, and was an excellent cook. She enjoyed spending time with her family and loved her community and the friendships she made over the many years. She enjoyed attending church on Sundays and was a member of the New Zion Baptist Church. She was a collector of many figurines of all sorts, especially bears. She was known by all as “Lady-Bug.” We will dearly miss our strong, brave, feisty, beautiful, courageous and fun loving mother and grandmother. Cynthia is survived by her children: Don Noseworthy, Ronay (Roman Garnica) Martinez, Richard (Tina) Noseworthy, Beverly Reichow and Lucas (Julie) Reichow and many grandchildren and great grandchildren. She is also survived by her siblings and her companion Michael Carpenter; Victor (Caroline) Gallegos, Donna (Dave) Allred, Veronica Gallegos (Hillario Alvarrez), Lloyd (LaRue) Gallegos, Tobias Gallegos, Esther (Rogelio) Ruiz). We thank the staff at IHC, the doctors and nurses, and the in-hospital hospice staff who were so phenomenal with the care of our mother. A memorial will be held at New Zion Baptist Church (2935 Lincoln Ave, Ogden, Utah) on Saturday, February 26, 2022, at 1:00 p.m.
