Cindy Lou Chadwick
July 9, 1959 - February 8, 2020
Cindy Lou Chadwick, 60, passed away suddenly on Saturday, February 8, 2020. She was born on July 9, 1959 in Murray, Utah to David Lee Fritz, Sr. and Shirley Snarr Fritz. Cindy grew up in Midvale, Utah and attended Hillcrest High School. Most weekends growing up, she and her family would take their camper and head to Fairview, UT, where she enjoyed nature and the adventure of small-town life. She married Mark Kenneth Chadwick, her husband of 42 years, on August 24, 1977. They loved going camping and boating and spending time together outdoors. Lake Powell was a favorite destination, where she enjoyed sitting on top of a houseboat staring up at the beautiful, starry sky. Everyone who spent time with Cindy was blessed by her giving heart, as she was quick to share all she had. She taught her family to always be gracious, to care for others, and not to judge. Cindy was thrilled to be called “grandma”. She loved spending time with her granddaughters and spoiled them at every opportunity. When they’d come to visit her, she loved to let them stay up late watching Disney movies, even long after she’d fallen asleep on the couch. She never told them no, and she was always happy to share her favorite things with them – especially her stash of chocolates and Diet Coke. Cindy also loved spending time with her dogs (Scamp, Ginger, Lady, Molly, and Lucy), drawing, writing, doing puzzles, shopping, and going to concerts. Cindy was preceded in death by her father, David, and her mother, Shirley. She is survived by her husband Mark, of West Jordan, Utah; her daughter Lynsey (Josh) Caplin, of Dallas, Texas; her five granddaughters Avery, Joslyn, Sophie, Brooklyn, and London; her siblings Sherrie (Leroy) VanMatre, David Fritz, and Jeff Fritz; her sister-in-law, Debbie Chadwick; and her seven nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held Saturday, February 15, 2020 at 11:00 a.m. at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints chapel in Taylorsville, Utah, 4986 S Valois Dr. A viewing will be held from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. prior to the services. Interment will take place at Elysian Burial Gardens.
