Clarence "Bus" Myrel Keech

April 5, 1927 - November 20, 2021

Clarence “Bus” Myrel Keech Dad danced through the veil into the arms of his favorite dance partner on November 20, 2021. Dad was born April 5, 1927, to Charles and Clara Keech. He grew up in Valentine Nebraska and would tell wonderful stories of his many adventures there with his brothers. Dad joined the United States Navy and served in WWII. He shipped out on October 27, 1945, on the APA Edgecombe to the Philippines. There he became Ships Company where he ran the generators for the base. In November 1945 he went to the China seas where he traveled throughout the Orient on a LST 797 participating in various duties. At a dance in American Fork Utah dad was drawn to a dark-haired beauty. At first, she wondered what this kid was doing asking her to dance. But with his charming personality and quick wit he soon won her over. They were married November 17, 1948, in Riverton Utah. Dad joined The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints on February 18, 1958. Mom and dad were sealed together along with their children in the Salt Lake Temple on August 28, 1959. Dad served in many callings in the church. He served as a Bishop of the Kearns North 16th Ward and later enjoyed serving in the Jordan River Temple. Mom and dad loved to travel and go camping with family and friends. Dad is preceded in death by his parents, and siblings: Kathryn, Gerald, Edward, Marion, Conred and Dean; three sons-in-law Kenneth Thompson, Don Pullan and Art Barnes; His eternal companion Florence Garside Keech. He is survived by his children: Dixie Thompson, Jim (Jane) Keech, Kim Barnes, Robynn (Wes) Fulton, Keri (Ron) Brown; 18 grandchildren, 49 great-grandchildren and 19 great- great-grandchildren. Dad was the king of one-liners! One of his favorite sayings was “It will feel better once it stops hurting”. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am on Monday, November 29, 2021 at the Memorial Ward, 4251 South 4800 West, West Valley City, Utah with a viewing to begin at 10:00 am. Interment to follow South Jordan City Cemetery, 10630 South 1055 West. We love you dad!
