Clinton DeVone Dansie

July 31, 1934 - January 12, 2022

Obituary for Clinton DeVone Dansie Clinton DeVone Dansie passed away peacefully on Jan 12, 2022. By his side was his sweet wife of 64 years Anne, and his children. Through his last days, he was able to visit with his children, grandchildren, and other family and friends. Clint was born July 31, 1934, in Helper, Utah. He was the sixth of nine children born to Clarence Edgar and Grace Jones Dansie. He lived in Spring Glen, then moved to the Lewis Ranch at Sheep Creek in Spanish Fork Canyon. He grew up learning how to work hard on the family ranch. He often talked of feeding the animals, carrying wood and water into the home each day as part of his chores. He attended Spanish Fork High School, graduating in 1952. He went to LDS Business College for 2 years, and then was called to serve a mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. He served in the West Central States Mission, spending his time in Montana. His mission was a very important experience in his life. He talked about it often to anyone who would listen. Shortly after returning home, he met Anne Coffin at the wedding reception of mutual friends. After a short 12-week courtship, they were married on June 7, 1957. They were married for time and eternity in the Manti Temple. He graduated from BYU in 1962 with a degree in Education. He later earned his master’s degree. He taught algebra at Payson Junior High School for 28 years, retiring in 1994. Clint was also a general contractor, specializing in concrete. There are many, many sidewalks, curbs, and gutters in the downtown Payson area that he and his crew did. In his retirement years, Clint spent a lot of time in his workshop making wooden clocks, benches, tables, chairs, trinket boxes and many other treasured items. He enjoyed sharing his handiwork with those he loved. He loved to go camping and looked forward to our Dansie Family Campout every summer for 24 years. He did not own a camp trailer that he did not remodel in one way or another. He enjoyed travels with his brothers and sisters to Alaska and to Quartzite, AZ in the winters. Clint and Anne loved to have lunch at Mi Rancherito restaurant in Payson and became close friends with the owner and his staff. Clint has a strong testimony of his Savior Jesus Christ and has served in many callings for the church. He taught Gospel Doctrine Sunday School classes for as long as we can remember. He served a mission at the Elberta Grainery, and another for the Church Employment Center in Springville. He loved to serve in the church, community, and especially his family. Over the past few years, he’s loved spending time in the temple with his daughter Annette, and anyone else that could accompany them. Clint and Anne were blessed with six children, Von (Carlene) Dansie, Annette (Doug) Loveless, Raelyn (Evan) Christensen, Guy (Diana) Dansie, Dan (Cindy) Dansie, and Neil (Jody) Dansie. They are the proud grandparents of 29 grandchildren, and 45 great-grandchildren with 1 on the way. Clint was proceeded in death by his parents, his brothers Robert Clarence, John “Jack” Wallace, Donald Edgar, La Monte Jones, his sister Eva Mae, his brothers-in-law Richard Leavitt, Keith Hansen, Ed Holt, sisters-in-law Jean Holm Dansie, Laurel Lowe Dansie, Marjorie Peery Dansie, grandchildren Gerald Wayne Loveless, infant twins Troy & Jill Dansie, and his “Other Brother” Robert “Bob” Stevens. (It would not be a complete list if we did not include him.) He is survived by his sweetheart Anne Coffin Dansie, his children, and those many beloved grandchildren, his sisters Grace Hansen, Berta Lou Holt, his brother Randle J Dansie, and sisters-in-law Evelyn Jones Dansie, Phyllis Walbeck Dansie. Funeral Services will be at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, January 21, 2022 at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints building located at 1023 Arrow Head Trail, Payson, UT. Viewing will be on Thursday at the church form 6:00-8:00 p.m. and at 9:30 a.m. on Friday prior to the services. Burial will be at the Payson City cemetery.
