Dallin Kent Ashby

October 24, 1999 - January 8, 2013

Our beautiful, courageous, beloved hero, Dallin Kent Ashby went home to his Savior on January 8, 2013, surrounded by his family. Dallin was a compassionate young man who did his absolute best to love everyone. He was one that would hug each of his loved ones without a hint of embarrassment. He especially loved little children. One of Dallin’s favorite pastimes was being out in the snow and sledding with his friends and family. He also loved swimming and recently made the Sports Academy Bronze Team. He loved scouts; he was always excited to go camping and hiking. Dallin enjoyed playing in the pep band and he was a first-chair trombone in the Mount Logan Middle School 7th grade band. He was an incredibly creative boy who loved to read, draw and create works of art. He would often take scraps and fashion them into toys that even his older siblings wanted to play with. Some of his happiest moments were spent playing with his cousins Sam and Tom Swindler. Dallin loved to go to the temple. He was so proud to help others receive their temple covenants. He was able to be a cornea and heart valve donor, and his family feels he would be very happy to know he gave this priceless gift. Dallin is survived by his loving parents, Kent and Sandra Ashby; his three older siblings: Brittani (24), Eric (22), and Amy (18); four grandparents; 23 aunts and uncles; 39 cousins and innumerable friends. We would like to express our special thanks to current and former Bishops, the staffs at Primary Children’s and Logan Regional Hospital, and Ty Henrie for their enormous love and support. Dallin loves you all. Funeral services will be held Monday, January 14 at the church building on 325 Lauralin Drive. The viewing will be from 10:00-11:45am; the funeral will be held at noon in the chapel.
