David Peter Larson

May 3, 1956 - June 19, 2020

David Peter Larson, 1956 - 2020 David died after a short bout with cancer on June 19, 2020. He won the first round in 2016 and spent the next four years continuing to grow the business he managed for over 25 years, traveling with his wife and family, serving as a missionary in the Nepali Branch, and playing with his granddaughters. Those last four years were a gift, and he made the most of them. David was born on May 3, 1956, in Ann Arbor, Michigan to Onslow Peter and Doris Elizabeth Larson, and was raised in Las Vegas, Nevada. David was a standout wrestler and offensive lineman at Las Vegas’ Central High School. He served a mission in Quito, Ecuador, and went on to study economics at Brigham Young University. While brokering finance deals in Salt Lake City, David went up to Logan to catch a football game, where a cute brunette teacher caught his eye. They ran into each other again at a costume party after Julie ditched her assigned date to hang out with David. Julie fell in love with his great head of hair and cute knees. David and Julie were married on August 20-something, 1981 (neither could ever remember the exact date) at the Salt Lake City Temple and have been inseparable ever since. David and Julie built a life filled with books, travel, jokes, art, music, tasty food, and murder mysteries. David was totally devoted to his family, and never missed a performance, game, or recital. He was a devout member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and found great joy in caring for others. David is survived by his beloved wife Julie; his cherished children; Erin, Tyler (Sara), Alexandra, Ben (Katy); and by his two favorite, ever adored granddaughters Maya and Emilia. He was a pillar of strength and a great source of comfort and calm for all of those who knew him. Please join us for a graveside service and dedication on Monday, June 22 at 11:00 am at Wasatch Lawn Memorial Park, 3401 S. Highland Drive, Millcreek, UT, 84106. Masks and social distancing are strongly encouraged. In lieu of flowers, please donate to the Utah Food Bank.
