Deloris Halling, known to friends as “Dee”, peacefully passed away on November 2, 2018 at home surrounded by family, after valiantly battling a rare cancer that wore her physical body down. Mom was born on October 26, 1938 in Goodwell, OK and grew up in Albuquerque, NM. She was sealed to her sweetheart, Ken “Geno” on October 5, 1976 in the Salt Lake Temple. She graduated from WSU, at the age of 52, with a Bachelor of Integrated Studies in Gerontology/Child Family/Recreation degree with a GPA of 3.98. Mom was a transportation clerk at Hill Field Air Force Base for numerous years. Mom always helped us bring out our strengths and encouraged us to follow our hearts. She was our selfless supporter and was a great example how to stay strong and lead a positive life. She touched so many lives for good through her beautiful example and love. Mom often expressed her love for the Savior and shared her testimony of the gospel through her actions. Some of mom’s hobbies were needlework, gardening, collecting family photos, reading, and she loved studying the gospel. Dee is survived by her husband of 43 years, Ken Halling, son Johnny (Mora) Clark of Merritt Island, Florida; daughters Connie Beard of Prosperity, South Carolina; Cindy (Bob) Burnett of Traverse City, Michigan; and Angie (Matt) Hansen of Denver, Colorado; 20 grandchildren, 29 great-grandchildren, and 3 great-great grandchild, two nephews, four nieces, and countless friends.
