Destiney Lyn Foot
February 19, 2004 - October 31, 2019
Our angel Destiney returned home to our Heavenly Father on October 31, 2019 after a sudden illness. Destiney was born on February 19, 2004 in Orem Utah, from the moment she was born she had the heart and spirit of a fighter. Destiney was born with cerebral palsy and had a very rough start to life. She spent the majority of her first five years of life battling multiple illnesses, was in and out of the hospital, and at one point her parents were even told that she would not make it to her first birthday. However, in true Destiney fashion she proved the doctors wrong and would continue to do so throughout her entire life. With unparalleled love and dedication from her family, medical professionals, and therapists Destiney was able to see her health stabilize and begin to make real progress. She was able to start attending school and attended Sierra Bonita elementary from the age of seven until her 15th birthday. After moving on from Sierra Bonita Destiney attended the Oakridge school in Springville Utah. Destiney loved school and loved learning and challenging herself every day. Destiney’s hard work at school coupled with the countless hours of patient encouragement from her teachers and therapists Destiney was able to be a very active and almost too independent at times. Destiney will always be remembered for her beautiful smile, and her contagious laugh. Those that knew Destiney best knew how much she loved having family around as much as possible. Some of her favorite times were family get togethers especially birthday parties, she loved when everyone would sing “Happy Birthday” and you could swear it was her birthday every time the song started. Although Destiney could appear fragile that never stopped her from engaging in wrestling matches as often as possible especially with her brothers. It was well known that at Destiney’s house if you were within her reach you were fair game for a wrestling match. Destiney also enjoyed playing dress up with her dolls especially when she could convince Grandma or her sister to play with her. Destiney had an act for always being able to get her way no matter the circumstances, all she had to do was look up at you with her bright blue sparkling eyes, smile and you were putty in her hands. Those around her knew when she was up to no good you could see the wheels turning in her mind, she would get the most mischievous smile on her face and you knew trouble was coming. Destiney had a way to communicate with everyone she met, although she was non-verbal, she was able to convey her sweet spirit and kind heart to make everyone fall in love with her. Destiney was a bright light that illuminated our lives and will be deeply missed. Destiney is survived by her parents: Autumn Foot - Julian Castillo and Levi & Cynthia Foot, Siblings: Carson Foot, Dylan (Marika) Credaroli, Tyler Fletcher, and Victoria Humes. Grandparents: Sherry Emory, Terry Foot, Linda (Mark) Merlen, and Stephen Frampton. Great Grandparents: Clyde & Betty Powell and Sharon Nielson. Along with numerous aunts, uncles and cousins. Destiney was preceded in death by her grandmother Lydia Foot. The family would like to give a special thanks to Primary Children’s Medical Center, Utah Valley Regional Medical Center, Life Flight, Dr Gary L Behrmann, the staff, teachers, aides, and transportation specialists of Sierra Bonita and Oakridge Schools, and Salem Hills Pharmacy, for taking care of our beautiful angel. Funeral services will be held on Saturday November 9, 2019 at 12:45 pm at 470 E Salem Canal Road, a viewing to be held one-hour prior. Interment to follow the services at Salem City Cemetery 965 S 140 E.
