Donna Carol Reeves
May 20, 1947 - September 22, 2021
Beloved mother, daughter, sister and friend, Donna Carol Reeves passed away on September 22, at the age of 74. She died peacefully surrounded by loving family after a long struggle with CHF and COPD. Donna was born in Burbank, CA on May 20, 1947. She was the third of eight children born to Wayne Adelbert Reeves and Madge Kemp Reeves. She has many happy memories of being raised in a loving Christian home by faithful parents. Throughout her life, Donna and her siblings were very close. She was a gentle soul who did her best to take care of everyone around her. She lived her life in devotion to her family. As the mother of five children, she always made every birthday and holiday special, from festive decorations to wonderful homemade food. She loved, appreciated and cherished each one of her children with all her heart. She enjoyed gardening, cooking, and home decorating. She was an avid reader, sometimes finishing up to three books a week! From the time she was young, she had quite an imagination. She would daydream and design all sorts of beautiful things in her head – envisioning verdant landscapes with fern-laden paths winding between trees, or home interiors decked out in the finest furnishings and décor. A lifelong member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, she had a powerful testimony of her Savior. She served a mission to Peoria, IL in 2003. The highlight of her mission was being a guide for the Nauvoo Temple open house. She later served in the Portland, OR temple at the records desk. Donna loved the Lord and loved His word. Not a day went by that she didn’t pray and read her scriptures. Even when she could no longer kneel, she stayed close to her Heavenly Father through regular prayer and scripture study. Donna loved to sing. From the time she was 12 years old, she sang in church, school and community choirs. She also sang solos and in trios with friends. One of her favorite choral pieces was How Lovely is Thy Dwelling Place. Indeed, how lovely is her dwelling place now, as she goes home to be with her Father in Heaven, surrounded by loved ones and friends who have gone on before. No doubt she was greeted and embraced by hundreds of loving souls who have praised and admired her for her humble walk through this life, and for the way she suffered her many trials with patience and grace. No doubt she has joined the angel choirs above and is singing to her hearts content! How wonderful for her to be able to sing in her angelic state, as her lung condition prevented her from singing for the last several years. She is preceded in death by her parents Wayne and Madge Reeves as well as her brothers, Larry and Richard. She is survived by her five children and their spouses, David (Larisa) Hobson, Suzanne Hobson Smith, Christian (Rachel) Hobson, Janette (Jonathan) Mason, and Stacy (Don) Larson, as well as her 28 grandchildren and three, (soon to be four), great grandchildren. A celebration of Donna’s life will be held Monday, September 27 at 11:00AM at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints located at 587 South Saratoga Rd, Saratoga Springs, UT. For those who wish to participate, a viewing will take place starting at 9:30 AM. She will be interred in the Lehi City Cemetery.
