Edna Marie Peterson
October 26, 1925 - September 24, 2017
Edna Marie Hunlow / Peterson, 91, passed away September 24, 2017 at her residence in South Jordan, Utah. She had lived more than 50 years in Albuquerque, New Mexico. Edna, who called herself Eddie Mae, was born in Topeka, Kansas, the daughter of Edna Leona Reed. She claims two wonderful men as a parent: her daddy, Henry Brittian Lovett and her father Charles William Lovett. Edna and her husband Victor E. Hunlow raised two children and were foster parents to a third and Edna supported an unknown number through “save the children” programs. Health issues in the family created the need for Edna to work during her younger and middle years and she served as a legal secretary to a New Mexico Chief Justice. After Victor passed away in 1972, she re-married Carl Peterson. Edna developed many talents; cake decorating, crochet, genealogy, knitting, photography, and teaching thus leaving a legacy of love to her family. Of all of the things that Edna would want to be remembered for, the three most important would be her humility before God, her devotion to family and dedication to being a friend where a friend was needed. She is survived by a devoted son, Steven Hunlow (with wife Jacki); a loving daughter Cheryl Holland; her care-giver granddaughter, Scharese Payne; 10 other grandchildren; 21 great grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren. Celebration of Enda’s life will be held at Legacy House 1517 West Temple Lane, South Jordan, UT on 29 September 2017 at 7:00 pm. Edna will be buried in the Santa Fe New Mexico National Cemetery with her husband, Victor Hunlow on 4 October 2017.
