Edwin Rusk Simons III
March 13, 1943 - December 20, 2018
Edwin Rusk Simons III was born in Salt Lake City, Utah on March 13th, 1943 to Edwin Simons and Delna (Brinkerhoff) Simons, he was the oldest of eight children. While growing up, Ed was instilled with a great love for family, and enjoyed spending time with them camping, hunting, and fishing. Ed loved being active and enjoyed bowling, tennis, and swimming. He had a great love for music and dancing as well. Ed married the love of his life, Anna Maria Jensen, in the Salt Lake City temple on October 16th, 1968. The couple made their first home in Salt Lake, and four years later they bought their family home in West Jordan. Ed lived in this home for the rest of his life, and he and his wife raised three wonderful children, Alaina, Trent, and Miranda. Ed is survived by his wife Anna Maria, daughter Alaina Green (Warren), son Trent Simons (Elisha), and daughter Miranda Wyatt (Lee) as well as 11 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren who brought much joy to his life. He is also survived by his sister Gaylynn, sister Debbie (Lee), Tonya (Robert), and sister-in-law Linda. Ed enjoyed every moment he was able to spend with his family. On Thursday, December 20th, 2018, Ed passed away, surrounded by his loving family, in his home due to complications of Parkinson’s. Ed was preceded in death by his parents, sister Cheryl, twin sisters Marsha and Maureen, brother Quay, brother-in-law Dennis, and Grandson Kyle. Even though he has left us in body, ,he is still with us in spirit, and has left us a legacy of love that we will always hold dear. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am, Thursday, December 27, 2018 at the Jordan Oaks Ward, 8117 South Leslie Drive, West Jordan, Utah with a viewing to begin one hour prior. Interment to follow at West Jordan City Cemetery.
