Elizabeth Hindley Reisbeck
June 25, 1919 - February 28, 2014
Elizabeth Hindley Reisbeck Our beloved Mother, Grandmother, Great Grandmother, Sister and Friend, was called home to our Heavenly Father on the cold and snowy day of February 28, 2014 in Helena, Montana. She was born in Lehi, Utah to Bertha Shaw and Harold Charter Hindley on June 25, 1919. She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints; serving in various callings. She married Raymond R. Reisbeck on June 10, 1939 in Farmington, Utah. Mother loved music and loved to dance!. She was quite the dancer in her day, as all the men lined up to dance with her; never lacking for a date. She was a very proud graduate of Davis High School and a member of the Proscola marching team. As a teen she worked for Lagoon as a head cashier. Mother’s main occupation, after marrying, was Homemaker. She cooked, and boy she could cook, cleaned, gardened, attended PTA meetings, church meetings and was a voter registration clerk. All the while keeping three children in line, as our Father was a truck driver and gone for weeks at a time. During WWII, Mother worked at the Remington Arms Plant as an ammunition inspection supervisor in Salt Lake City. Always keeping busy, she obtained her Real Estate License, just because she wanted to do it. She went to work for the Salt Lake City Police Dept as a meter maid; just for one day, as our Father would not approve of her working. Her beautiful flowers would attest to her gardening skills. She could take a small branch from a rose bush and cultivate it into the most exquisite Silver rose bush. Neighbors marveled at her ability to do this. Our home was always supplied with freshly baked cakes, cookies and pies, not to mention a daily scrumptious home cooked meal. Her brother-in-law commented he had traveled the world over and had never tasted a lemon pie as good as hers. It was not uncommon for us to have an extra place setting at the table; usually one of our friends. She was always encouraging us to do our best and to never give up, to root for the underdog and to be selfless and giving to others less fortunate than ourselves. She taught us to be honest in all of our dealings, to care for others and above all else, to love the Lord! She was awarded the Independent Record Mother of the Year in 2013. Mother loved many things, but her greatest love was her family and the unconditional love she had for them. She loved to have dinners and just be with her family. She was preceded in death by her parents; step father Captain Bernard Cain; husband Raymond and five sisters and two brothers. She is survived by her sons Gerald R. (Sheila) of Helena, MT, Dixon P. (Judy) of Layton, UT; daughter Lynda Ann of Helena, MT and brother Dixon Hindley (Elizabeth) of Salt Lake City, UT. She is also survived by 15 Grandchildren, 25 Great Grandchildren and 7 Great Great Grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 11:00am on March 8th at the Bountiful 3rd Ward, Bountiful Tabernacle, with visitation at 10:00am prior to the service. Internment at Bountiful City Cemetery.
