Erica Leah Trujillo

October 5, 1984 - June 19, 2021

Erica Leah Trujillo was born October 5th, 1984 in Salt Lake City to Eric Trujillo and Lisa Kaplan. Erica was such a small baby with a bright smile, our little rare bear. In her youth, she often played outside until the street lights came on, with her sisters and neighborhood friends. She was imaginative and would come up with many games for our family to play, and her laugh would fill the room. She was not one to shy away from a party and was quick to celebrate other’s achievements. She had a giving nature and a willingness to help, even when she didn’t have much for herself. She loved taking trips with her family and friends, and would often regale people with her tall tales of adventures past. Her favorite holiday was Halloween and she would share her passion of dressing up and ghost hunting with those around her. She yearned for the times we would drive up the canyon and make our delicious foil dinners and roast marshmallows, while staying cozy by the roaring fire. Her greatest joy in life was her daughter, Miley, who she loved with her entire being. She loved to make up stories and play dolls with her, and would often video chat with her and take many pictures. She adored the way Miley could talk and talk, and encouraged her to share her laughter and smile with the world. Her fondness and tenderness with Miley was unmatched and will be missed immensely. She is survived by her wonderful daughter Miley, her mother and step father Philip and Lisa Kaplan, sister Chelsea (Chase) Janversan, brother Austin Kaplan, sister Jessica Trujillo and step mother Louann Starr, brother in law Holden Janversan, nephews Dominic and Conner Janversan, Uncle Don (Karla) Huntsman, Uncle Tim (Sherry) Trujillo, Aunt Laura (Dan) Pollock, Aunt Jenny (Keith) Lane and Aunt Ilene Carleton and many cousins who loved her so much. Proceeded in death by her father Eric Trujillo, sister Angela Janversan, her loving grandparents and Uncle Mitch Huntsman. There are so many others that love her so much and will miss her. A celebration of life will be held Saturday, June 26th from 1200-200 at the Skye Drive Ward Building 4200 West Skye Drive (9800 South), South Jordan, Utah. The family would like to thank all of the Doctors, Nurses and Heath Care Assistants at UHealth for their kindness and caring during this very difficult time. We would also like to thank the Doctors, Nurses, and Health Care Assistants at Rocky Mountain Care Hospice and the Riverton Care Center for all of their support and assistance.
