Eva Eleanor Christiansen Filler passed away peacefully on Monday, December 19, 2011. She was born on October 6, 1913 in Downey, Idaho, the fifth child and fourth daughter of Moses & Mary Christiansen. Our mother is survived by her two sons and daughter-in-law, Gary of Alpine, UT. and Ted & Rita of Alger, WA., seven grandchildren and 18 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ben, two brothers, three sisters, and her daughter-in-law (Gary’s spouse, Karen). She attended schools in Downey until her graduation from Downey High School in 1931. She then left home and pursued a career in Salt Lake City. She met her husband there and raised her children in Salt Lake City. During her life she was a beauty operator and a clerk at several department stores. In 1963, she moved to California and returned to Utah in 1996. She loved her family and enjoyed participating in events with her children and grandchildren. She enjoyed vacations in Hawaii, Alaska and other beautiful spots and she loved driving through the Utah Mtns. each fall. Living 98 years, she set a quiet, loving example of fortitude and perseverance throughout her life that will serve as a legacy to her family and friends. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am on Wednesday, December 21 at the LDS Mountainville 1st Ward, 98 East Canyon Crest Road, Alpine, UT, 84004. A viewing will be held before the funeral service at 10:30 AM. Internment will be at East Lawn Memorial Cemetery, 4800 North 650 East, Provo, UT, 84601.
