George Perry Bird

George Perry Bird Jr. passed away May 7, 2018 in Ogden, Utah. He was born September 8, 1924 in Ogden to Mathew Fiefield and Louise Young Perry Bird. Married Ila Dell Evans, December 3, 1948 in the Logan LDS Temple; she passed away in 2003. He married Shirley Tesch, December 27, 2004; she passed away in 2010. Perry served as an LDS missionary in the Southern State Mission. He was a faithful, actively-serving member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, and led his family by word and deed. Perry served in the US Navy during WWII as a Radio Operator. He graduated from Utah State University with a Bachelor Degree in Electrical Engineering in 1951. He worked for Boeing Aerospace Company as an Electrical Engineer. He is survived by his children, Michael Evans Bird, Christine (Richard) McCullough, Dwight (Vicki) Bird, T.J (John) Bond, Shannon (Bernie) Gonzalez; 22 grandchildren; 39 great-grandchildren, and sisters, Lou Woodland, Willa Magruder, Mareen (Steve) Douglas, Carol (Darrell) Johnson, Ann (Dee) Hansen. Preceded in death by his wife, Ila Dell; daughter, Linda; sister, Helen Smith; brothers, David Bird and Richard Bird; brothers-in-law, Mac Smith and David Woodland and wife Shirley. Funeral services will be held Saturday, May 19th, 11:00 am at the Municipal Park Ward, 5930 So. 2200 W. Roy, Utah, with a viewing Friday evening from 6 – 8 pm at the church and from 9:30 – 10:45 am prior to services on Saturday. Interment, Logan City Cemetery.
