Geraldine Greenfield

July 9, 1933 - December 10, 2020

Our dear sweet Geraldine Greenfield, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt and friend passed away peacefully at Harmony Hills in Lehi, Utah on Thursday, December 10, 2020, at the age of 87. Born to Dorothy Avery and James Siegel on July 9, 1933, in Cedar Springs, Michigan, she was the oldest of 3 children. She was raised in a loving home in Comstock Park, Michigan. She loved her childhood in Michigan and would often share stories of all the fun adventures she had with her parents, sisters, aunts, uncles, grandparents, cousins and friends. They were a very close knit family, enjoying reunions at the park, going to the cottage and small town parades. She loved to go boating and fishing at Lincoln Lake and she was a great swimmer. Gerry married Henry Greenfield (aka Handsome Henry) on October 11, 1952. They moved to California 10 years later. They lived in Hollywood, Calexico, Little Rock and eventually settled in Lancaster, where they lived for 55 years. Henry and Gerry had many friends in the valley. Gerry graduated from Antelope Valley College in 1971. Geraldine dedicated her life to her family, caring for her husband, children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. Henry and Gerry had 3 children, and a bonus kid when they adopted their granddaughter, Jennifer. Gerry took pride in a perfectly kept home. Everything was always clean. She loved to iron while watching her favorite soaps, such as "Days of Our Lives". In addition to all the cooking, cleaning and caring for her family that Gerry did, she also worked as a teacher's aid and volunteered in the community. Gerry loved to travel! She took many trips across the country and abroad, including Canada and Europe. She enjoyed frequent visits to Disneyland and could outlast anyone in the parks. She also loved traveling around the US in the summers, enjoying tourist spots, national parks and amusement parks. Some of her other interests include movies, theater and music. Throughout her life, religion and faith were important to Geraldine. In 1964, she joined the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She remained active in the church and was committed to the gospel of Jesus Christ. She served as a teacher, ministering sister and librarian. She also enjoyed her time as a Temple Worker in the Los Angeles Temple. She is survived by her sisters Barbara Kerr, and Judy Geglio (Tony), and her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Due to the worldwide pandemic of 2020, funeral services will be held at later date. Geraldine will be buried with her sweetheart of 68 years in the Lancaster Cemetery.
