Harold "Pete" Peterson
June 20, 1921 - November 10, 2015
Harold A. Peterson “Pete” was born June 20, 1921 in SLC to Harold A. and Clara Antczak Peterson and passed away peacefully at home November 10, 2015. Pete graduated from Granite High School and attended Utah State University. Pete proudly served in WWII as a B-24 Pilot Instructor, and retired from the Air Reserves with the Rank of Major after 20+ years, he loved to fly. He worked as a Salt Lake City Police Officer and during that time was a Commanding Officer of the 363rd Military Criminal Investigations Division. Pete retired later from Georgia Pacific Corporation. He was an avid golfer and enjoyed spending time on the course with his many friends. Pete is survived by his loving wife of 72 years, Virginia Fairbanks Peterson, children; Diane Mollerup, Carol Welch, Scott (Annabel) Peterson, seven grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren, preceded in death by his parents. Funeral services will be held 12:00 Noon, Monday, November 16, 2015 at the Crystal Heights Ward, 1970 East Stratford Avenue, Salt Lake City, Utah with a viewing at the church one hour prior to services. Thanks to everyone at Rocky Mountain Hospice who cared for Pete with special love to Kathy and Mario for their loving care.
