Heath Jody Muir

September 4, 1977 - January 28, 2015

Heath Jody Muir passed away on January 28, 2015 suddenly due to complications from diabetes, an illness he struggled with since he was 14. Heath was born September 4, 1977 to Ewart and Lorri Muir in Soda Springs, Idaho. Heath was the oldest of six children and spent most his childhood in Grayslake, Idaho. As a child, Heath enjoyed fishing, playing football and picking on his siblings. Heath graduated from Soda Springs High School and moved to Salt Lake with his family in 1997. Heath was a gentle soul who loved animals and is survived by his 4 dogs, Duke, Prescott, Brutus and Jelly. Heath would try to bring the dogs everywhere he went. He would make sure the dogs were taken care of before his own needs were met. Heath was a favorite uncle to his nieces and nephews and he was known to come over for a sleep over and to play video games. He loved to watch football and the Denver Bronco’s biggest fan. Despite Heath’s many health issues, he strived continually to improve his life and worked constantly on his career goals. He was enrolled at Stevens-Henagar College pursuing a degree in computer programming at the time of his death. Heath was a member of the LDS church and served a mission to Oklahoma City. Heath is preceded in death by his father, Ewart (Jody) Muir and is survived by his mother Lorri Muir, siblings, Kyle (Kristi), Melanie (Tyler) Wallace, Bryce Muir, Michelle Brown, and Brayden (Cami) and numerous nieces and nephews. A graveside service is being held on Friday, February 6th at 11:00 am at the Fairview Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the American Diabetes Foundation. The family wishes to express their sincere thanks to Jim and Laura Farnsworth for their care and devotion to Heath in his final days and for finding loving homes for Duke, Prescott, Brutus and Jelly.
