Ilene J Brady

June 27, 1927 - January 30, 2017

Ilene Jensen Brady, loving wife, mother, sister, grandmother, aunt and friend, passed away peacefully on January 30th 2017, surrounded by her loving family. Ilene was born on June 27th 1927 in Brigham City, Utah and was raised in the small town of Mantua, Utah. She had the wonderful opportunity to live with her Grandparents and Aunts and Uncles throughout her life. She attended school in Mantua and had the unique opportunity to attend 4 different high schools in 4 different cities. She called this a very wonderful and rewarding period in her life. The final high school, Granite High in Salt lake City, proved to be a true blessing as this is where she graduated but also met the love of her life and her eternal companion Vern Brady. She spent her freshman year at the University of Utah and then attended a business school in Portland. She married Vernon G Brady on April 14th 1949 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. They built a beautiful home in the East Mill Creek area and Ilene lived there in contentment until her passing. Ilene was the ultimate caregiver and her concern for others, especially children, was always at the forefront of her mind. She had a deep and abiding love for her family and friends and a strong testimony of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. She gave many hours of service and shared her many talents with those she cared for. Even in her final hours, her only thought was the wellbeing of all those around her. She expressed her desire for everyone to continue to love one another and she was assured her wishes would be fulfilled. She is survived by her 4 children, Susan (Steve) Palmer, Karen (Bob) Hoffman, Kent(Cathy-Fiance) Brady, Tonyia Jensen Clark ( daughter-in law) and Mary-Lyn (Richard) Kunz, 19 Grandchildren and 19 Great Grandchildren. Siblings: Pauline (Walker) Halliday, Dee (Joyce) Jensen, Karma (Gary) Dabel, and Linda (Tim) Garrard. Preceded in death by Spouse and loving partner Vernon G Brady, Brother, Ed (Marilyn) Jensen and Parents Melvin and Monta Jensen. Funeral services will be Saturday, February 4th, 11:00 AM at the Hillside LDS Chapel 3750 S. Hillside Ln, SLC, UT. A viewing will be held Friday, February 3rd from 6-8 at the church and prior to services Saturday from 9:45-10:45 AM. On-line condolences may be left at www.premierfuneral.com. “I have never thought of anything That I would rather do, Than spend all time and Eternity Simply loving you. I will always be in love with you.” Love, Vern.
