Ina May Collier Johnson

Ina May Collier Johnson passed away peacefully at her home on December 25, 2021. She was born January 11, 1928 in Vernal, UT to James Edwin and Lena May Collier. She had 7 brothers and sisters. She graduated from Uintah High School in Vernal, class of 1946. She attended BYU, and graduated in elementary education. She taught school for 31 years. Ina May married Richard Wendell Johnson on October 13, 1955 in the Salt Lake City temple. They had 6 children – Glen, Frank, Dana, Eric, Shaun, and Joe. Ina May was very good-natured, kind, and loved everyone. She served a mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Texas, Spanish speaking. She was an active member of the church her entire life, and never missed an opportunity to share her testimony. She enjoyed the aloe vera business with her husband for 40 years. Her family and her grandchildren were the light of her life. She never missed an event for her family – birthdays, holidays, parties, and graduations. Ina May loved buying gifts for the people she loved. She would often visit thrift stores and buy things that she thought someone would like. Her home was filled with her treasures. She was preceded in death by her husband Richard, and sons Frank, Joe, Glen, and all of her siblings. She is survived by her sons, Dana (Valerie), Eric, and Shaun (Hollie), 21 grandchildren, and 10 great grandchildren. She will be deeply missed. The influence she had on our lives will never be forgotten. We are grateful that she is reunited with her family on the other side. Her funeral services will be held January 8th, 2022 at the LDS Chapel at 845 N 1150 E in Layton. The viewing will be held from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. with the funeral at 11:00. Interment to follow at Lindquist Memorial Park in Layton, Utah.
