Jack Harold Thompson
February 9, 1944 - January 7, 2020
It is with heavy hearts that we send off our beloved Jack Harold Thompson, 75. After a long battle with Parkinson's with dementia Jack succumbed on Tuesday, January 7th, 2020. He was born on February 9th, 1944 in Grand Junction, Colorado to Fredrick King & Hester Wood King Thompson. His father died early in his life and Jack was later adopted by Alton Thompson when Hester remarried. Jack spent his childhood between Cedaredge, Colorado and Provo, Utah. Graduating from Provo High School,where he was on the wrestling team. Jack also started a car club with his friends. He also attended Utah Valley Technical College. Jack earned his living riding race horses for most of his twenties. He later went on to work in the construction field, mainly concrete work until he retired at the age of 67. Jack met, fell in love & married his wife, DeAnn Barrett on December 28th,1974. They have two sons Kyle (Alexia) and Brian (Ashley) Thompson. Three grandchildren Sarah Ruth, Ryder, and Ruby. Jack also has two sisters, Darlene (Ben) Carbone and Sonja (Ed) Rofes Jack is preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Robert. Riding horses and enjoying the outdoors was his passion in life. He was always on the go in work and play. Hardworking, always helpful, a problem solver, prankster, loved his family, friends, horses, mules and dogs. He had an adventures spirit, comfortable in nature and solitude as well as with a group of people. Jack will be greatly missed by his family and friends. The family will be having a private celebration of Jack's life.
