James Michael Rosas

November 2, 1950 - November 21, 2021

James Michael Rosas was born November 02, 1950, to Lucio and Elvira Rosas in Rock Springs, WY. To his siblings and Kemmerer area locals he was Jim. Jim was loved by each of his siblings, Gerald (Gerry) Rosas, Rosanne Searle, Marie Harker, John Rosas, Ruben Rosas and many of his nieces and nephews. To his family, he was Dad. To his neighbors, he was Mike. To his grandkids, he was Papa. Mike was known and loved by neighbors, friends, family and kids. Many neighbors have shared stories of his kindness, humor, and acts of service. Teachers from close by elementary schools have enjoyed his presence and the contributions he provided to many kids by volunteering his time. In high school, Dad was part of the wrestling legacy of the Rosas generation of wrestlers, and with his brothers was the ‘Bouquet of Rosas’. Dad loved football, wrestling and stock car racing. He was passionate about John Wayne and the old cowboy style of the author Louis L’ Amour (he was 1 book short of the entire collection), as well as old cowboy western films. His music ranged from Tina Turner to Chuck Berry to James Brown and shared a love for Bruno Mars with his granddaughter Raegan. He was an avid collector of NASCAR memorabilia and was involved with racing as a Pit Crew Chief for a local UT racing team. He provided various acts of service within his neighborhood, and was an active member of the neighborhood groups, and served in the United States Army and was a Vietnam Veteran. His ultimate passion was truck driving, where he drove for 25+ years and loved to take us kids on some of his long-haul trips to WY, MT, ID, CA and other states. Dad passed away peacefully from untimely health complications at the Timpanogos Regional Medical Center. He was surrounded by his kids, Jamie Sanders (daughter) husband to Jamie-Travis Sanders, Jennifer Rosas (daughter) and Jerry Rosas (son). As well as with his two granddaughters Andie and Raegan Sanders. Dad will be sorely missed by his neighborhood community, schools, and family. We are eternally grateful for his compassion, love, and respect he gave to everyone that was close in his life. May he be at eternal peace and be welcomed with open arms by the Heavenly Angels of God Himself. Amen. A Celebration of Life will be held at 1:00 p.m. at the The Utah Veterans Cemetery and Memorial Park in the Chapel on Friday, December 10, 2021 located at 17111 S Camp Williams Rd, Bluffdale City, Utah. The family would also like to invite you to a Balloon Release at 5:15 p.m. on Friday, December 10, 2021 at the Pavilion by the stake center Located at 49 W Tanner Lane Saratoga Springs UT.
