James LeRoy Wilde Our beloved Father and Husband passed on April ll,2022. He was a Quiet-Loving-Giant among men. He loved his Savior and the Gospel of Jesus Christ, he had many favorite callings of teaching and serving in the High Council. He cherished the scriptures and read them many times over. He was born March 15,1936 in Coalville, Utah on his grandmother’s kitchen table. His parents were Bill and Fontella Wilde. At one-week-old, he contracted whooping cough and was kept alive with whiskey and ice baths. He was raised in the Devil’s Slide and Coalville area. His parents and 2 brothers (Keith and Burt), moved to Colorado where he graduated from Fort Collins High in 1954. He served a mission in England and Ireland and stayed to see the London temple dedicated, thinking it would be the last temple built. His family moved to Petoskey, Michigan while he was on his mission. After his mission he was drafted into the Army for 2 years, where he served as a chaplain's assistant. After the Army he worked with his brother on a ship named the Gullster moving cement from Petoskey to Chicago. In 1961 he came to attend Utah State University. He then met Cheryl Stephens, who claims to have married him for the dimple in his chin but none of the children received it. They were married on Dec 20, 1963 in the Salt Lake City Temple and spent 58 interesting years together. He graduated from Weber State in 1971 in Data Processing. He then worked for HAFB for forty years on the HUD system and Foreign Military Sales. His job took him to Chile, Egypt, Korea, Bahrain, Turkey, and all over the United States. They raised 7 children together: Desirae(Talbot) Adair, Charee (Mark) Schmid (deceased), Randall(Traci) Wilde, Shane(Brenda) Wilde, Drs Nicole(Jay) Meyer, Erin(Mike) Brosnon, and Megan(Clifford) Campbell. They have 21 grandchildren and soon to be 11 great-grandchildren. He enjoyed camping with friends and family, having fun in the great outdoors, or watching a BYU football game. He dearly loved his children and supported them in all their scouting, games and cheerleading. Since his retirement the TV and cowboy movies became his best friends. He will be loved and missed until we are together again.
