Jim Brown

June 16, 1939 - February 18, 2018

Our loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend, Jim Brown, passed away peacefully in his home on the morning of February 18, 2018. He is survived by his loving wife, Sandra, and their 5 children – Ron (Tacy), Kristen, Mike, Dave (Natalie), Justin (Polly), and his grandchildren, and one great-grandson. Jim was born to John Berry and Gladys Porterfield Brown on June 13, 1939 in Farmington, New Mexico. He married Sandra Newman on September 20, 1968. Jim loved his wife, Sandra dearly. He served in the US Army in the 82nd Airborne and was a member of the All Army Rifle team. He was an active, faithful member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, camping, shooting, and being outdoors. He also enjoyed playing cards, cooking over a fire, great conversation, and anything that brought his family and friends together. He loved his freedom and his country, but his greatest love was his family, his kids, their spouses, and his grandkids. An open house will begin at 10:00 am on Thursday, February 22, 2018 at the LDS Stake Center located at 2895 E Creek Road, in Sandy, Utah. Funeral Services will begin at 11:00 am.
