Joan Kay Williams

August 3, 1931 - September 20, 2021

Joan Kay Williams was born August 3, 1931 in Los Angeles, California and passed away on September 20, 2021 in Farmington, Utah. Joan had just celebrated her 90th birthday in August with a birthday bash attended by family and close friends. Joan enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. She had a caring nature towards all she came in contact with. Her favorite pastimes included reading, music/singing and dancing, and movie date night with her favorite guy and husband, Jerry. Their favorite movies were old black/white movies at the Vitaphone theater in Saratoga, CA. While young, Joan moved to Tooele, UT where she was raised by her maternal grandparents. She enjoyed her growing up years and was very popular in high school. She loved singing in the high school choir and performing in her high school drama productions. She would often sit and watch musicals on tv and sing along with them. Joan met her sweetheart, Jerry Williams, through her mother who introduced them while Joan was on a summer visit to California. They fell in love and were married on December 24, 1950. She and Jerry were later sealed in the Salt Lake Temple in June 1955. They shared 30 wonderful years together until Jerry passed away in August 1981. She had been without her sweetheart for 40 years until her passing on September 20, 2021. Her family knows that she is dancing with Jerry all over Heaven. Joan was a faithful disciple of Jesus Christ and a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints where she served in many callings. Of all her callings in the church, her favorite was teaching. She is survived by her three children: Tracy (Teri) Williams, Heidi Williams Pearson (Calvin), and Troy (Heather) Williams, 12 grandchildren and 32 great-grandchildren. Family and friends are invited to attend her funeral service on Saturday, September 25 at Premier Funeral Services--67 East 8000 South, Salt Lake City, UT. Viewing will be from 10:00-10:45 am with the service following at 11:00 am. The service will be broadcast via Zoom.
