Joe Kim Hiatt

July 21, 1950 - April 24, 2013

Joseph “Joe” Kim Hiatt passed away on April 24, 2013 from cancer. Joe was born on July 21, 1950 in Salt Lake City, Utah. He joined the Navy his senior year of High School. He very much enjoyed playing Golf with his friends and family, with and Ice cold Heineken, and fishing just as much. He had a huge heart and loved all his grandchildren. He will be thought of often and will be missed by everyone. Joe was preceded in death by his father, Zane “Corky” Hendricks Hiatt, his sister, Deborah Hiatt Hoff, and his loving daughter, Hilarie Jo Hiatt. He is survived by his mother, Beverly Gailey; his brothers, Mike (Monika) Hiatt; Guy (Gaynor) Hiatt; his sisters, Glenda Cooper Hiatt; Jana Hook; Connie Gailey; Zane’s wife Anna Carolyn (Kelly) Hiatt; daughter, Julie Holtz; son, Brian (Shelly) Hiatt, his partner, Sharrie Martin and children, Julie (Dave) Hood; Kelly Martin; Nichole Martin; Adam (Amy) Martin; and many grandchildren. The family would like to express their appreciation to Olympus Rehabilitation and CNS Hospice, and all who helped care for Joe. Our hearts are heavy with you gone Joe, but be now understand why you were taken before we were ready to let you go. An angel told us God needed a new Golf partner. Hope to see you on the eighteenth hole, We Love You. Memorial Services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, May 6, 2013 at the Utah Veterans Memorial Park, 17111 South Camp Williams, Rd, Bluffdale, UT. Friends and family may visit prior to the services from 12:00 to 1:00 PM.
