March 27, 1961 - March 24, 2022
John Philip Chugg passed away peacefully at his home, in his sleep March 24, 2022 after a long and difficult battle with stage 4 lung cancer from secondhand smoke. He was surrounded by his loved ones as we said our last goodbyes. He fought long and hard and never complained. He was such a kind and loving man, who was loved, and will be missed by all who knew him. He is resting peacefully and is in a better place now, happy and free from pain. John was born in East LA, March 27, 1961. He grew up mostly in California, moving often. He has lived in Utah for the last 30 years where he has raised his family. He was such a wonderful husband, father, and step dad. John and Beth (Marley) were married June 5th, 1997. They were later sealed in the Brigham City Temple with their three youngest children, Sydnee, Taylor, and Samantha on June 7th, 2014. John served a 2-year mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in Sydney Australia, Greek speaking. He loved everything about it! His faith in the Church has always been so strong, and he taught us above all else to stay strong in the gospel. John loved to play racquetball, volleyball, and bowling. He won many first place trophies for volleyball and bowling growing up. John and Beth met through singles ward volleyball. John did many things for work but especially loved working in Real Estate over the years. He was incredibly smart and taught us all so much! He is preceded in death by his Father-Cecil Karl Chugg and Mother- Evelyn Daines Chugg. He is survived by his wife Beth Chugg and nine children: Troy (Chelsey) May, Richard May, Spencer (Hailey) May, Austin (Charliegh) May, Bryce May, Jacob (Jamie) Chugg, Sydnee Chugg, Taylor Chugg, Samantha Chugg, 11 grandchildren, and John's siblings: Geraldine Gilderoy, Robert Chugg, Dwayne (Katie) Chugg, Karlene Riggs, Lynette (Denny) Herlan, and Bruce (Paula) Chugg. Ben Lomond Cemetery address: 526 E 2850 N North Ogden Ut, 84414.
