Jon Norman Key (73) was born on November 4, 1948, to Beverly and Beulah Key. Jon passed away in his long-time home in the Avenues on April 14, 2022. Jon was born and raised in the Salt Lake Valley. He attended Granite High School and then the University of Utah. Jon served in the United States Army during the Vietnam conflict. Stationed in Berlin Germany, he proudly served on the Honor Guard. Jon worked as a Utah State Capitol Police Officer, as well as working at the State Mail Distribution Center when he retired in 2009. Jon enjoyed his final job at Smith’s, working in the meat department. Jon was a generous and giving man. He loved animals, especially cats and loved to go around different spots in Salt Lake and feed strays. He was close to his family and dedicated time to taking care of his mother before her passing. Jon is his survived by his sister, Diana (Scott) Howey. He is preceded in death by his parents and his sister, Edditha Perez. Graveside services will be held at Noon on Friday, April 22 at Elysian Burial Gardens.
