She went to work as a house keeper at the Denman Motel and at the Little America Hotel. In 1973 she purchased her first and only home. In 1975 she became employed at National Semi Conductor, while working there with her 4th grade education she taught herself to read and write sufficiently to do her job, receiving awards and recognition for her accomplishments becoming Supervisor of the gold dust division. She retired in 1994. She spent her retirement years with all of her children (family) where she was the happiest, always surrounded with love, love, love.
