Karen Ann Cox 1950 - 2018 Karen Ann Cox of Elk Ridge passed away peacefully on August 13, 2018 following a long battle with Multiple System Atrophy. She was 67. A native of Southern California she was born as the younger of two daughters to John and Helen Enders on October 9, 1950 in San Diego, CA. She spent the first half of her life as a wife and beloved mother to her five children, daughters Tracy, Marcy, Laura, and Carrie, and son, Jeremy. She later began a career in the Alpine School Transportation system retiring in May 2014 to better care for her husband, Russell M. Cox, who was suffering from advanced Alzheimer’s disease. He predeceased her in July 2015. She joined the LDS church in May 2017 and very determinedly and joyfully was sealed to her husband for time and all eternity at the Payson Temple on August 7, 2018. Karen served as matriarch to an extended family providing revered counsel and support to her five children and sixteen grandchildren. She had a life-long interest in gardening and genealogy having devotedly traced her family roots to early 19th Century Europe. Karen’s loss will be deeply felt in the lives of all who knew her and her memory eternally cherished by her children and grandchildren who loved her so well. By her example she taught us to love our children unconditionally and that family is everything. To her grandchildren she wanted them to always know you deserve love and happiness and you are never too old to correct any mistakes made. She is survived by her sister, Kathy Ostling; her 4 daughters, 1 son and their spouses, Tracy (Jamie) Steck, Jeremy (Sandy) Kupcho, Marcy (Patrick) Shackelford, Laura Curtis, Carolyn Kupcho; and her 16 grandchildren.
