Kathleen Ralston
December 3, 1950 - February 16, 2018
Kathleen Anne Ralston, 67, passed away Friday, February 16, 2018 after a courageous battle with pulmonary hypertension and heart failure. She was surrounded by her beloved family at the time of her passing. Kathy was born December 3, 1950 to Philip Gregory and Marie Sklom Ralston in Evergreen Park, Illinois. She was the third of six children. Kathy attended Amos Alonzo Stagg High School where she lettered in music. She lived in Worth, Illinois until she moved with her family to Boise, Idaho and then to Utah. Kathy raised and adored her three children, Tina Marie, Ronald Philip, and Wendy Lynn. She was an accomplished organist, and was frequently asked to play at weddings, company parties, and family celebrations. Kathy worked with her family at a medical equipment company owned by her brother, Phil Ralston. After the company sold, Kathy moved her children from its headquarters in Texas to Arvada, Colorado. Following their time in Colorado, Kathy took a job in Utah working in technical support for Word Perfect. She then became the Medical Staff Coordinator for Intermountain Healthcare, at what was then known as Utah Valley Regional Medical Center. She adored her work at Intermountain, and remained there until her retirement in 2012. Kathy was a talented, accomplished woman, but her greatest achievement and joy came from her family. Nothing made her happier than spending time with her siblings, children, and grandchildren, all of whom adored her in turn. She was a warm, loving, and joyful person, who brought endless happiness and light to the lives of those around her. Kathy is preceded in death by her daughter, Tina Marie Holland (passed away August 24, 2017), her brother Phil Ralston, and her parents Philip and Marie Ralston. Kathy is survived by her children, Ron (Cyndi) Ralston and Wendy (Mario) Santos; her grandchildren, Ricky Holland, Tori Holland, Bethany (Declan) Webster, Lindsay Ralston, Matthew Ralston, and Dominic Santos; her siblings, Pat (George) Fuhriman, Cynthia (Jim) Holmes, Rick Ralston, and Theresa (Gary) Olesen; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. The family would like to express our gratitude to the physicians and staff at Utah Valley Hospital, especially Dr. Clark Bishop, for taking such good care of our mother during her last days. We would also like to thank Canyon Hospice Care for the tender care that she received as she passed from this life to the next. From the bottom of our hearts, we thank you. Mom, we love you. There will never be a day that you are not in our minds and hearts. Your many phrases, sayings, and “few idiosyncrasies” will live on forever. We will miss you more than you know. We always knew this day would come, but for us, it was way too soon. A funeral service will be held in her honor Saturday February 24, 2018 at 11:00 am at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Sunny Ridge 3rd Ward chapel, 1470 East 130 North, Spanish Fork, Utah 84660. Friends may call on her on Friday February 23, 2018 from 5:00 – 7:00 pm as well as Saturday February 24, 2018 from 9:30 – 10:30 am at 1470 East 130 North, Spanish Fork, Utah 84660.
